Recent Sermons

Here are two recent sermons at Midlane Park Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church. The first was the “Thanksgiving Sermon”, which used Jonah 2 as the text. The second, preached on November 25, was from Galatians 2:17-21.
A Song of Thanksgiving
Crucified with Christ

Last evening, I held a short (well, it wound up lasting about an hour and a half, but that was not my original intention!) preparatory service for our upcoming observance of the Lord’s Supper at Midlane Park Presbyterian Church. We are currently observing the sacrament every other month (which is an improvement over the previous […]

Happy Thanksgiving

I wanted to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. I’ve included a couple of graphics I shamelessly borrowed (if this were the rap world, I’d say “sampled”) from other websites to brighten up the day! Well, at least I’ve decided to link the websites!

Update: How silly of me! What would a day of thanks be without […]

Progress at Bonclarken

My wife and I traveled to the campgrounds/conference center for our denomination (the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church) this past week — at the Bonclarken Conference Center, in Flat Rock, NC (I was attended a board meeting for Outreach North America, the home missions board for the ARP). One of the recent projects for Bonclarken is […]

The Future of Our Country?

I read this article this morning, which indicates a disturbing trend among our nation’s youth. Keep in mind, as you read this, that the article deals with New York University graduates — not exactly a bunch of dummies — who are so apathetic about their right to vote that they would sell it for a […]

“But when Cephas came to Antioch, I opposed him to his face, because he stood condemned. 12 For prior to the coming of certain men from James, he used to eat with the Gentiles; but […]

A Fervent Prayer

I don’t know much about Sonny Perdue, the Governor of Georgia (though I did vote for him when he ran for a second term during our last brief stay in the state; and I do know his son is a Baptist minister/church planter in the north Atlanta area). But the following recent event speaks well […]

Well, I don’t think too many folks think of John Hagee as a stalwart theologian (outside of those watching Praise the Lord marathons on the ironically named Trinity Network). His views of Jewish salvation has always been troubling, as are his ties to the prosperity gospel (see here). However, this little video clip really defies […]

Piper on Justification

John Piper has written a new book entitled The Future of Justification. A review of this book can be found here.
I was pleased today to find that Rev. Piper has made his book available online. You can download a pdf copy of the book by going here.
There’s nothing quite like a free book! Enjoy!

Only One Gospel

“Then after an interval of fourteen years I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, taking Titus along also.   2 It was because of a revelation that I went up; and I submitted to them the […]
